I Knew Her When
I knew her way back when
and I knew then
that she was slightly crazed
deluded,
but brilliant and interesting.
There are people who get tangled up
in a messiah complex.
They become convinced that they have more to offer
than other people.
Try to tell them otherwise
and they lash out,
or grinch up.
I knew her way back when,
and I just found out
that nothing’s changed.
